You can refill cartridges for the Epson 850, 1200, and 3000 through 3rd
party sources (try www.missupply.com). In fact, they even have a
continuous flow system now, where the printer draws ink from a bottle,
rather than loading cartridges at all.
I don't know about the new Epson 870, 1270, and 2000P. They're pretty
new. Don't forget that Epson doesn't like you to do this, so they will
disavow any knowledge of your actions should you proceed. But the other
option is to fork over WAY TOO MUCH cash to Epson for the damn pre-filled
cartridges.

Do any of these allow refilling of the ink cartridges or are you forced to
constantly buy, buy, buy. I assume pages per cartridge is better now that
it is with my Stylus Color 800.

Subject: RE: [OM] Photo quality printer
John,
Can't speak for HP, but I've had a Canon BJ-something and an Epson Stylus
Photo 750, and I'm very happy with the Epson. Cost about $250US and
prints beautifully.

Hello Everyone,
I've been considering going to a "digital darkroom" for color
work. When I got a new computer recently, I got one with enough memory,
just in case. Now my printer has died, and I'd like to get a really
good photo quality replacement. I've read hype on Canon, Epson, and HP
(can't remember the model #'s). If anyone has a strong opinion on
which printer does the best job, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Since
money is an issue, I guess I'm looking for the best bang for the
buck. Once I take this step, I'll have a scanner and the software to go.
Regards,
John Pendley
