Best photo-quality printer?  Best bang for the buck, on either the low cheap 
end or the far high end?

Alps.

Beautiful DRY process, great paper handling.  "Ink" never goes bad.  Just gets 
used up.


Once you pick your printer, you'll find that photo-quality paper will cost you 
dearly.
