A wet Q-tip with a very small amount of baking soda will help dissolve
it. You have to be careful applying it so that none of the runoff goes
where you don't want it. I didn't know that humidity played a role in
this kind of corosion. I thought it built up by leaving the batteries
in for long periods. . . . .much like the stuff you get on the teminals
of car batteries.
