Welcome! Are you sure you meet all the requirements for list
membership? You must either 1) own an SUV, 2) want to ban SUVs, 3)
want to ban those who discuss SUVs, or 4) are outside the US, and
wonder what an SUV is. (If this doesn't make sense, look at the past
couple weeks' of archives. Suffice to say this list is high-volume,
and tends to get off-topic easily. :-)
Well, I fit in to category 4. I live in Korea presently and have never come
accross this particular acronym before. Would you mind filling me in?
Oh boy, you're opening a whole discussion thread! (Be sure to inquire
about the differences between single- and multi-coated lenses, a
subject as near and dear to our hearts as SUVs! :-)
Well, this is a discussion group and it would be awfully boring if we sat
around all day doing nothing. Still I can understand how hearing the same
topics day in day out might get to some people. As for Coatings, I am
assuming that Olympus is like all other camera manufacturers of their time
and did not develop their own special formula but rather just bought one
from someone else in which case the difference between them would be in a
nutshell nothing. You might get marginally more contrast from an MC lense.
There would be light to gain in the way of improved flare resistance (though
this might be a different story with zooms) judging by the simple lens
designs favoured by oly. Many of My early single coated nikkors outdo the
newer models due partly I suspect to settling and outgassing of the
coatings. Still, I am sure people will argue with me.
well, anyway nice talking with you and again; good to have a chance to meet
some aussies!
