I think the reason to do this would be not only price but quality. You could
get a resolution much highr than even a fairly expensive dedicated commercial
film scanner.
The overall resolution for a 600x1200dpi scanner plus projector would be
conservatively 4800x7200 (or even 4800x14400 if you buy
1200).
That is something like 35 Megapixel. (70Megapixel)
