Charlie, exactly what I was trying to say. To a "non"- photographer, it
would be a genuine honor to get their photo _anywhere_!
And... if they're a "non" - photographer, what is the chance of them
producing a real moneymaker? Highly unlikely, IMO. Not just from the (lack
of) experience angle, but from the equipment used angle. If they're drooling
over a cheap Canon Rebel first prize, what are they using now? Not a 4Ti or
M-6 with Leica glass, I'll bet!
I think there are so many very advanced photographers here with advanced
equipment, that it's difficult for the majority to imagine themselves in a
newbie's shoes. Yes, to the advanced member of this list, it may seem a bit
like the company is taking advantage of you and your images, since (maybe)
the majority of your images are "keepers"; but, whether you're advanced or a
beginner, all you have to do is read the rules, then decide if you want to
participate or not. No one is holding a gun to your head in order to get the
images are they?
