I think the electrons in cameras are smaller than the ones in radios. I know
they are also a little more fragile.
I've torn up my share of camera bodies, electronics are easy by comparison.
I remember my father telling me you could never put all the dirt back in the
hole you dug, the same is true for camera bodies, that stuff just won't go
back the same. Sorta like working on a laptop computer compared to a
desktop. One's a piece of cake, and it ain't the laptop!

Perhaps we're assuming that this is brain surgery and no one has delicate
tools.
I actually think an auto transmission is far more complicated than a
camera's internals aside from the ICs which no repairperson can fix anyway.
And tightening a hot shoe may be a relatively simple task-but those repair
people on this list have no interest to share this information for obvious
reasons.
The reluctance to share this type of mechanical info doesn't extend to my
ham radio lists, fortunately.
I'll drop my inquiry.
