At the present time I have both and find them equal in casual shooting. Both
use 55mm filters. Supposedly the f 3.6 version has higher resolution but I
haven't found that to be true. My f 3.6 had some type of flare around high
intensity objects but I can't say that this isn't true also of the f 4. The
f 3.6 is probably built mechanically up to higher standards as the aperture
has a ball bearing raceway that allegedly has hundreds of ball bearings in
it. My present favorite is the 35-85 VIvitar Series 1.
