Hi all,
I have calculated the possible aperture values for photographic lenses
concerning the formula ?2 exp x, with x from -1,0 -0,5 0,0 0,5 1,0 1,5
2,0 and so on. The result in comparison to the used numbers is the
following:
calculated 0,7 0,8 1,0 1,2 1,4 1,7 2,0 2,4 2,8 3,4 4,0 4,8 5,7 6,7
used 0,7 0,8 1,0 1,2 1,4 1,7 2,0 2,5 2,8 3,5 4,0 4,5 5,6 6,7
especially the three values 2,5 3,5 and 4,5 for values between full
aperture numbers are a little bit irritating for me, I have always thought,
that 4,5 must be nearer to 4,0 than to 5,6. Can anyone explain me, why
these aperture values are choosen in this way ?
Matthias
