Too add to this thread,
The Shoe may also crack from tightening it too much.
The manual for the OM2 says to set the shutter speed at 1/30
to avoid accidental shifting.  The actual flash synch speed is 1/60.
Of course you will get more ambient exposure at 1/30, you be the judge.

I use the T-20 on camera for my OM1 and 2.  TTL is terrific on the 2!
Normal auto is very accurate also.
The T-32 is used when I need more power and I can use a bracket or a light
stand.
