That version also sports a very crafty drop in filter slot with, get this, a
thumbwheel controlled filter rotator, as for polarizing filters. I must admit
that the 350mm f/2.8 Zuiko looked a bit under-engineered in that department.
BUT, the Tamron has a chincy carrying bag versus an aluminum case for the
Zuiko.
I sure question black finish outdoor, esp. in a lens so suspectible to focus
shift with changes in the ambient temperature. The Tamron has an adjustable
infinity focus stop, to compensate for such changes. It would drive one crazy
to be taking it in and out of an air conditioned car in the desert summer.
