I like the 40/2 and use it quite a bit. I shot a wedding last month
with an Oly backup kit, and left the 40 on for the whole shebang. This
focal length is what my college teacher called a "picnic" lens; actually
closer to the "standard" focal length of 43.5mm in the 35mm format.
What really sets this lens apart from its peers is the close focusing
ability----down to about 12 inches. My one peeve is the outboard
f-stop/filter ring. This is obviously a problem with some filters, but
on my lens if any filter is tightened normally, the f-stop ring becomes
almost impossible to move. Even without a filter, the serrated edge of
the f-stop ring is hard to manipulate.
