I encountered a situation where I needed a spacer, or shim, to get the
bracket to mount firmly to the winder. My first solution was a flat washer
also. It worked or, but tended to work loose fairly quickly. I made a
"washer" from some thin cork material and it was outstanding. It was quite
snug and did not loosen with use. The trouble was it didn't last long; the
cork would tear within a few attach/detach cycles. A piece of neoprene
rubber did the trick. Made it years ago and it still is in routine use.
If you can get a Metz flash, 45 or 60 series, go for it. OTF control
modules for all major cameras, they will light up a cavern :) A great tool.
