Cars are about the most demanding environment for any kind of
electronics: Lots of heat, cold, vibrations, odd chemical fumes, etc.
I would expect a LCD to fail a lot quicker in a car than just about
anywhere else. A camera is a relatively benign environment, unless
it is left in the sun for a long time.
