I believe the early ones were not auto aperture. I have a set of Oly tubes
which are auto aperture. My copy of the Heiberg book (The Olympus Guide)
refers to non-auto tubes. This is an old book that covered the OM-1 and OM-2
pre-"n" versions. I'm not sure of the exact date, since I am on the road on
business and didn't happen to bring it with me! <g> That's the only reference
to non-auto tubes I've ever seen. I didn't see anything in the FAQ about this.
