My local camera store (Cal's Camera in Newport Beach) has a Fuji Pictrostat.
It seems to print all the detail of the original slide. It produces images
similar to Cibachrome (very contrasty, sharp, with saturated colors and with a
dislike of dark slides). It allegedly has 75 year archivability.
I would agree that Cibachrome produces the best images but I like the Fuji
machine (if it's a different one than Foxy used) for instant gratification.
I also like the Kodak machines that scan the negatives or slides and produce a
digital print. It did a great job on my Velvia slides and especially on
shadow detail.
