This thread is/was discussed in the usenet rec.photo.equipment.35mm
recently (may still be on-going). It started with someone from
Canada advertising mercury batteries for sale (could be PX625, can't
remember any more), and then Colyn Goodson (a frequent poster to
the newsgroup) jumped in and said that twice he ordered mercury
batteries from Canada and twice, they were seized by US Customs
upon entry into the US.
