Have you compared any of those off-brand 3x converters with the 1.4x +
2x combo? Intuitively, I would think single converter would deteriorate
the image less, but then again, if it is off-brand...
This post got me thinking about that 180/2 beastie. It is much more
manageable in the terms of bulk and price...almost an carry-around
lens... With the 1.4x or 2x, how does it compare to 300/4.5 in terms of
image quality? And does the big mix 500/5.6 yield anything acceptable?
Has anybody got experience or thoughts?
By the way, I was always curious why there isn't a dedicated 2x
converter for the big three (180/2, 250/2, 350/2.8)? Is it because of
design difficulties, or was it just a marketing strategy?
Best regards, Marko
