Hi Richard:
<< There was a Canon A1 body with sligthly brassing. Hmm, brassing isn´t the
rigth word, underneath the black paint and a thin cooper layer was pure white
shining plastic! >>
Yup, same with the AE-1. Within the last month I bought one for my gal where
the strap eyelets had worked their way all the through the cover metal and the
plastic. But if you had seen what was in the included camera bag back in
storage you would have died! It was a 1/12th of Shutterbug price deal. To
sweeten the deal, the camera proved to have a dead hot shoe. That qualified
me for a replacement, which turned out to be something just getting displayed:
a near mint AE-1 black body. Where can you find such stories: well, Las
Vegas, of course! :-)
I finally got the 28-48 zoom I've wanted. Alas, it was a rather rare 28-55
f/3.5~4.5 Canon FD in a trade for a Exc.+ 100-300 FD which I bought for $29.95
Alas, so much for getting a 28-48 Zuiko :-( Just another case of the
benefits of a parallel camera system. Oh, and they threw in a Toyo lens
board, too.
This isn't an isolated story. It happens weekly here. Sometimes I think I
should have a WWW site and market this stuff I find. BTW, this stuff isn't
"hot."
