As I was reading old Oly mails, I came across this, quoting from John H.'s
e-mail:

With no oil on the magnet, the shutter should fire between 1/1000 and
1/2000th of a second (the speeds above 1/1000 are not advertised) and
you should see a light bar (due to the TV scanning system) about  1/8
inch wide, running diagonally across the film plane.)
This is from discussion of oil on the magnet in Shawn's OM-10.  That may be
why Shawn remembers this.
