Enjoyed the photos Martin. I need to get busy sorting thru ours.
We also went with O2. We've used O2 on previous trips and I knew where
they were located only 2 blocks from Waverly so we each picked up a
physical SIM. £10/mo with way more data than needed. And way better
than what's available here at home. Prepaid the next month since they
only take UK credit cards online which could have been a PITA if I had
needed to top up along the way. Brick &Mortar take any CC's. Pretty
good coverage in England, France and Italy. However expensive roaming
in Switzerland so we only used wifi there for a few days. Did not have
any issues exiting the EU. The data and calling rates were higher but
no interruption of service. However we were careful not to use any of
our prepaid balance so as to have enough credit to roll over the next
month without having to find a brick&mortar to top up. I would not
recommend O2 for the Highlands in Scotland though. Very sketchy
coverage. EE is better. (are they still a thing?) Another issue is that
we couldn't load the O2 app since we have NAmerican phones. Used the
website or just txted for info. Customer service was very good. If you
are planning to visit more countries than just the EU O2 has more
expensive plans that include a larger number of included countries. And
also more included international calls. They changed the plans in the
middle of our trip and deleted the credit for international calls from
the cheapest plan. If you need that then get the £15/mo plan. We just
used WhatsApp.
