Yes, the Schnozz observations are correct. I believe the vivid blue effect is not
primarily due to dissolved minerals but suspended "rock flour"--this is related
to the mechanism of glacial lake formation.
Makes sense.The slopes around Avalanche Lake are very steep, with many
waterfall/almost waterfall creeks.
