Greetings gang! Contrary to popular belief, I haven't been et by a
bear yet. The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
First of all, I am aware of the TOPE2 gallery not functioning on the
zone-10 website. I'm working with support to get that resolved. The
big problem is that the gallery software is extremely out of date and
no longer considered to be secure. Therefore, the servers need a few
odd adjustments to get things to work again. Hopefully, this will be
resolved soon. On a fully related note, I have to kill off my main
Drupal installation for the same reason. The replacement will embrace
HTTPS.
As some of you are aware, I've decided to change formats most of the
time. That's gone really well. On a semi-related note, I have a
housemate that moved in, so I didn't have to move from this fantastic
house I'm in right now. I might move next summer to another Alaskan
community, though, such as Homer. I absolutely love Anchorage, but
don't need to live here for work. I expect to spend at least a month
or two where T-shirts can be worn in the wintertime, though. In all
honesty, I no longer am even required to live in Alaska for my job any
longer, but are you kidding me???
Speaking of Alaska, the "we pay you to live here" check ($1114 per
person this year) was deposited. So, I got what I've had my eye on for
a bit and there is now a used (37000 shutter actuations) E-M1 Mk2 in
the house!!!! As soon as I've vetted the M1ii, I will be gifting the
M5ii to someone as it just hasn't made itself at home with me. It
obviously doesn't like me as it has tried to throw itself off a
mountain, and otherwise attempt to commit suicide. The GX85, while
needing a $20 rear dial repair, is just a wonderful little camera and
is staying put. The Sony, OM, and Four-Thirds kits are remaining for
now. We'll see. I will wait a little bit before deciding the fate of
things.
I'm sure I can find more things to share, but I'll hit send here
before it turns TLDR.
