Appreciate the comments, Jim, Wayne and Moose and Moose's heroic efforts.
Thanks, but hardly heroic, at least by my definition. 😁
Moose was spot on when he noted the lower mag to start at 100mm. I had the CU
diopter on but that was a test shot. I very much like a kiss of fill flash to
make them pop
as they have structural color that responds well to that. I quick crop showed
it didn't have the biting resolution throughout I like. I may send Moose the
raw file if he has the time.
My T32 failed on this one as the lowest setting blew it out--shouldn't have
done so with the ND filter on the T32 as it has time to send the quench
signal, but the thyristor misread the lighting. I need to get something that
does TTL and a LED for other situations.
Another shot at higher mag would have been as prefect as this one could get given
where he landed. This combo (PL 100-400 & T132 CU diopter) goes easily goes
1:1 but it takes a bit of time to do so and the autofocus can be tricksy.
Flutterby is larger than the sensor, so 1:1 not ideal. 😉 300-400 mm , sans
C-U, would have been just right here, no?
Too late to try again
This year.
