Low light, low contrast. It hunted like a blind dog. It helped if I
turned the camera sideways as it woefully lacks adequate cross-type AF
sensors. But I eventually just figured out that I needed to manual
focus it in those conditions.

I can rent almost any Sony body for $15-25 a day, so the A7Riv might
make an appearance.

This particular 100-400 was in a little rougher shape, so I suspect
some contribution there. The biggest complaint I had with the zoom
ring is the amount of stiffening it did when the temperatures dropped
down. The camera was cold-soaked around freezing and it made for a
very uncomfortable package.

Thank you. And there is a new m43 lens in the harem just waiting for
