To cut down on kit/weight, some tripods can detach one leg for use as a monopod.
Many trekking poles also have a tripod socket and are very light and strong.
Some can be long enough to reach eye height, though most don't extend that
far:-(
They also can come with baskets around the tip for use on snow/swamp/sand.
...and get two and use while hiking! Good for stability + knees + upper body.
