Yes the CU diopter messes with the FL and the mag so IS doesn't know which
side is up. The image displacement by movement is a direct function of FL
modified by
the factor (1+M)**2 where M is the magnification. I have seen some motion
blur when I thought the SS was sufficient. Best to use a higher SS--too bad
there is no way to tell the cam a diopter is in front and the IS could be
altered to account for it. Not holding my breath for that firmware update.
