After I hit send, I noticed the tall Yaggi antenna. Is it still
useful? Mine became useless and I gave it to a young roofer who
worked on my last roof replacement after a hail storm. He lives out
in the boonies.
Thanks for the kind words.
Well, that last sentence gives it away :) We live in the
boonies...signal-wise. The antenna was very useful up until they
"improved" the signal by going digital. Now we use it for the local PBS
channels which broadcast from a hill on the neighboring island. The
rotator died a while ago so I don't know if anything else is available.
Maybe a couple more channels from Vancouver or Seattle but they are very
far and fringe. If I ever take it down to renew the coax connections I
may remove the rear section and just retain the yagi "V" as the VHF
isn't useful anymore. The picture quality 'through the air' is
noticeably superior to the network signals like netflix that have to get
through that rusty wire.
