I agree with you, Wilfred. CNN is using more and more video clips on
its news site, rather than written articles. I seldom bother with them.

Lie means to rest or recline. Lay means to put or place.
You do not lay on the bed or in the road unless you are a chicken.
That seems to be the easiest for kids to understand. There are so many people
who have never been taught that.

That’s easy: it lies down. "lay" is a transitive verb taking a direct object, such as “lay the
table” etc . . . whereas “lie” is intransitive.
I’ve waited sooo long for someone to bring up that subject again :-)
