Thanks. Yes, I tried several approaches, and that is the best I could
do. First, it is an extreme crop, as all of my recent shots have been.
Secondly, I walked a tight line between feather texture and background
noise.
But, 200mm is the longest AF lens I have.
Maybe I need to haul out the old 250mm Leica-R lens and its 2x optical
extender.

OTT : do they sing? Plesant melodies of shrieks. I photographed one in Cetnral Park, NYC, some yers ago now, but never heard a sound they (must) produce.
