Hi Moose,
It was the Depression. We had the Model A up until I was about eight.
While we were living with relatives, when I was about three, I recall
falling into a shallow well stream where there were snakes of some
kind. The stream ran beneath a muscadine arbor. Some adult quickly
pulled me out, and I was unharmed. But, I definitely remember it.

Nice to know, Dean. My parents owned a '29 Model A when I was born,
in 1930. I remember it well.
I've heard of people who say they remember their birth. Mom said I'd
call Dada to any man in uniform. But I don't recall anything before
about three, nothing from Illinois. In memory, I'm a native Californian.
