No predators here, we live in a city of 275,000 people. I have a half-acre yard
that he never leaves, so he's safe from cars too when he goes outside. He
spends most of his time lounging on top of my car or prowling through my bushes
for things to murder. He leaves his kills on my doorstep all the time!

Classic. Someone really likes you. I have one (two actually) that does the
same thing, but on my desk when I am trying to work. I have had to raise the
monitors to accommodate them.
Do you have to worry about predators, such as coyotes?
