Certainly a benefit to use proper UV filter at high altitude shooting film with
OM gear. Most times the sensor stack on digital removes most of the issues
with some exceptions. Abundant UV while using some Panny lenses on Oly
bodies can exacerbate a fringing issue:

A UV filter clearly ameliorates the issue and at high altitude w/o one, no
reason to believe it would not be worse.

No UV filter used here much except if spray etc.
