But you need to bear in mind that support by MS for Windows 7 is apparently due to end on 14th Jan 2020 when security updates are due to cease. Not a problem if the computer is not connected to the Internet. I do sympathise with you as I am still dealing with problems from over enthusiastically updating to the initial version of the latest (1809) update. Previously, the initial change to Windows 10 (after using Vista) with a clean install on a rebuilt desktop stopped my old Epson 1650 scanner working due to lack of drivers but, at a cost, I was able to resurrect it by installing Vuescan software which is more flexible than the original but less convenient for straightforward copying.
