I built my own computer (i.e. assembled the components), so it has lots more connections on the front than yours,
including a CF card socket. Then there's the USB 3 card reader beside it that reads SD UHS II cards at v. high speed.
That also includes a CF reader. CF is very much alive, big and fast, for the "Pro" Canons and Nikons.
I have cables for later Olys, iPhone, mini USB and micro USB hanging all the time from the front panel, with a couple of
USB 3 sockets free. I don't think there's a flash card format used for cameras that I can't read, including the
SmartMedia cards of the first Oly P&S cameras.
and cables in a convenient drawer, I saw no reason to remove cards from the
camera each time I wanted to dump the card.
I much prefer removing the cards.
