Good morning, Ken,
As one who frequently wore a hard had for over 30 years, let me offer
one helpful hint. Expect to knock your head on anything that is just
above the top of your head. In my experience, the small bill on the
hats spoils your natural sense of ducking when you approach something
just above your head. I've scarred up many, from Fire Warden Red to our
plant color Green. This is even more likely if you are wearing glasses.
Good luck on your adventures to come. We await the
reports....................

Not even vicariously!!
They had their first hard freeze here in the Boston area last night; but I was
comfy under the down comforter.
I will admit that I'm slightly apprehensive towards -70F temperatures,
but fortunately, those shouldn't come for a couple more months--long
after I'm done with this trip. However, the problem is that now that
I'm fully equipped and credentialed, I'm the "go to" person in
engineering for everything even remotely remote. And there is a fair
bit of "remote" in Alaska. There are MANY projects that happen outside
Anchorage.
Bring it on!!!!!!!
I know some of you will laugh, but I'm getting my very own hard hat
for the first time in my work life. (I've worn them a few times, but
never had one with my own name written inside). I'm sure there is an
irony in there somewhere, but I'll just consider it a strange twist
that it's taken me three decades to finally get to this point in my
career.
