Tone Mapping is a feature in RawTherapee, I found it very useful in
enhancing the details in all magnification (viewing) level with a
natural look. For sharpen you can only see the result at 1:1 so people
do sharpen after resize.
"Tone Mapping" is a standard setting I'm using in converting the DNGs
taken with my Lumia Phone otherwise it just can't compete with its
amazing sharp JPEG output.

Well that seems to be the "Goldilocks" version right between Moosetified
version and my original. I don't know how you did the tone mapping--please clarify so I
can try to replicate. Have only heard that term
used in HDR processing. I did do a bit of LCE with USM at 50 pixel radius as
usual. Seems the consensus is I should have jazzed up the low contrast back
lit situation more and I agree now.
Thank you for fussing with my image.
