While looking for a replacement for my backup E-500, I noticed that a
number of E-410/420 bodies and full cameras are available at comparable prices.
Looking at the instruction manuals for the E-410 and E-420, I see that they
are roughly similar, basically just lacking the uncompressed TIF recording
format. The LCD display appears to be the same.
But, I cannot help but wonder why the E-410/420 are 10MP cameras while the
E-500 is a lesser 8MP camera. That, plus the E-410/420 both have LIVE VIEW and
the E-500 doesn't. Seems like the E-500 was marketed before the E-410/420, and
the only real advantage to the E-500 is the uncompressed TIF recording format.
Am I missing something?
