I guess that the inherent honesty of treasure trove finders in the UK
and elsewhere with a European mindset is measurably higher than that
which prevails in New Hampshire where the state's mindset is "Live Free
or Die" !

The finder will be disappointed if the Crown successfully claims that
the find is "Treasure Trove" which would mean that the find reverts to
the Crown [read "the State"] leaving the finder with a very nominal
reward if anything.
