Yes, it's just the right time of year. We got lucky with the moisture.
We had a sizable rain event in December, but then nothing of consequence until
January. Since then we've had a number of rain events. So, we're getting a
bit of a flower show this year and if this trip is an indicator I should have a
couple more trips coming up.
The ideal situation is a significant regional rain event of an inch or
more from early November to mid December, then a period of weeks with cold
nights and warm days. Then a series of lesser rain events about a week or two
apart into late February. That doesn't happen very often, even less often with
this ongoing climate change.
