I use Macs, so I have never tried Comodo. There is a similar piece of
software for Mac called Little Snitch that I have used for years. Anytime
anything tries to connect to the internet, it pops up a message informing
me, and asking if I want to allow or block the connection. Allowing and
blocking can be set to ?forever¹ or to ?just once.¹ It works very well.
