Ken,
My son gave me his XA, and I tried to like it, but I had been spoiled by
using the small Leica rangefinders. A Leica IIIa or IIIf seemed exactly
the right size. When I started looking at digital cameras, the Leicas
were, by then, larger, and way too expensive. I settled on the Fuji
X-E1 for that role. With the 27mm Macro lens, I have small size as well
as auto focus and on-camera flash. It is hard not to like it. The only
drawback is that it should have an eyecup.

To stay on-topic, this was shot with my Olympus E-1.

Back in the film days I acquired an XA through a trade with Joel. I

The Fujifilm X100 series is really a near-perfect camera. Not the very
smallest, but certainly comfortable and portable enough for all but
the most limited circumstances. It's hard to go wrong with it.
I wouldn't mind having another "pocket" compact. One that is really
small. The problem is that the smallest cameras are limited by the
size of the screen. Everybody wants a tiny camera, but nobody wants a
tiny screen. Do away with the screen and you can get camera with a 1"
sensor that will fit on a key chain. The FOB for my wife's Prius is
big enough that you could put a camera in it with a decent lens.
