Life sometimes isn't exactly fair. While looking for the silver lining
here it suddenly occurred to me that Carol can give thanks that she was
injured after the invention of the knee scooter. Peg and I are both
quite familiar with these wonderful inventions. Chin up. This too will
pass.

Rosanne Roseannadanna is still right.
While we were visiting with Carol's sister and brother in law, we went
to a Longhorn Steakhouse, our first visit to a steakhouse in forever -
and - a mistake.
On her way to the bathroom, Carol gave wide berth to a wet floor sign
and ". . . next thing I know, I'm flying through the air . . .". The
result was a badly broken ankle, visits to two hospitals that night and
return 'home' about 5 am.
In her lovely new cast, she couldn't have negotiated the steep stairs at
our next two destinations or wandered around out in nature. And then,
she needed a follow-up within 5-7 days. All options considered, we
waited a few days with family, to let things settle down, especially
swelling and let Carol recover a bit, then flew home.
We missed half our planned trip, but fortunately had accomplished both
list member visits. :-) Tomorrow, it's out-patient surgery, and the
prospect that she'll be completely well again in 6-8 weeks. She's slowly
becoming adept with her knee scooter around the house and in good
spirits, but for bouts of boredom.
A series of Pacific storms are starting, so I guess it's an early
winter for us, better than missing the light and weather of other seasons.
