Ouch! That's a tough break,
Just got the description:
"Trimalleolar fracture with a nondisplaced transverse fracture through the medial malleolus and minimally displaced
fractures through the distal fibular diaphysis and the posterior malleolus in near anatomic alignment. Enthesopathic
changes at the Achilles insertion and plantar calcaneus. Generalized soft tissue swelling. "
no pun intended. Give Carol my best wishes for a complete recovery.
Thanks!
Last year, two days before Thanksgiving, my daughter-in-law got home from her final grocery shopping and tripped on a
rug, with a simpler, but painful fracture. Two days later, she was the "kitchen boss", directing her kids and their
spouses to get all of the work done. They produced a fine holiday meal. Though she still feels an ache from time to
time, she has made an almost total recovery.

They said Carol would be in a similar air cast for much of her healing, but not
right away.
