Bill, it gets worse every day. I had a call this morning from a young man using an 800 number, pretending to be a
relative who asked, "Did Mom tell you about my truck?" When I asked who he was calling for, he gave my name.
Before he could plea for money, I told him I was sure that he had called a
wrong number, and hung up on him.
While we were visiting Carol's sister and hubby, Frank kept complaining about all the solicitation calls. I pointed out
that I don't answer calls from numbers that aren't in my contacts, so I get none of those calls.
If it's a real call, they will leave a message, I'll call them back, and add them to the contact list. I worried a
little when I first started doing this that I might miss an important call of some sort. I've been at it for a few
years, and still haven't missed anything important. If it's real, and time urgent, I generally call back from the
message within moments.
He didn't change, kept answering, kept playing clever pranks on some callers, kept complaining. I guess he actually
enjoys it.
