Bill, it gets worse every day. I had a call this morning from a young
man using an 800 number, pretending to be a relative who asked, "Did Mom
tell you about my truck?" When I asked who he was calling for, he gave
my name.
Before he could plea for money, I told him I was sure that he had called
a wrong number, and hung up on him.

Without going into great detail, this is a little like the X-files, the truth
is out there. If folks want to approach you there are many way for them to
access information about you. Tax records, white pages, various directories or
a clever ruse to get information. I've used all in the past to contact folks
when working as an executive recruiter and insurance agent. I've also used it
to purchase the property upon which I live. Where there is a will, there is a
way. My experience is a little dated and folks these days have many more
methods available and wish they would stop calling me. Bill Barber

For years now I've been getting mail from here and there sayng they want to buy
my house. And I still get notes under my windshield wiper from people wanting
to buy my pickup.
Now I'm getting phone calls from people wanting to buy my house. Just
how the **** did they get my phone number?
