Hi all, Update on my Olympus M5 ll Titanium finish with unresponsive rear
screen. As you might be aware rear screen stopped working after 5months use , under
2,000 exposures and with the twist/tilt feature used perhaps a dozen times. The
situation was complicated by the fact that I live in the UK and sourced the camera
at a £300/$400 discount from Hong Kong.During my Initial phone call to Olympus
I was told that since the Camera was a grey import warranty was void !
I sent the camera to Olympus UK stating that this seemed to be a common fault,
and regardless of where it was sourced 6 months gentle use was not what I had
come to expect from Olympus cameras.Camera was then forwarded to Olympus
European service Centre in Portugal.9 am this morning ring of doorbell, courier
standing outside with my repaired camera ! Faulty rear screen replaced with
compliments!!! Posted to UK centre on 27/9/16 returned from Portugal on
10/10/16.it seems churlish to point out that the complimentary lens cloth was
missing !
I was expecting a large bill but Olympus have come up trumps, This really has
given me a good start to the week. Of course I now have to spend a while
checking all settings....I was always going to write them down BUT never got
round to it.... but that is a small price to pay. Regards John Duggan, Wales, UK
