I have tried about half of the beers on the list, and buy some of them
(Westmalle, Anchor) on a regular basis. But in general, I find the list a bit
gimmicky, and the fact that there are so few Belgian beers on a list of 17
makes me question the writer’s beer drinking credentials.
I am indeed celebrating the International Beer Day, by making carbonnades
flamandes for dinner tonight, using Maredsous as the key ingredient in the
stew, to be accompanied by homemade Belgian fries and washed down with Chimay
Bleu, Rochefort, and similar classic brews.
Cheers,
Nathan
