Hey, Mike:
Thanks for this wonderfully composed and light-balanced shot.
We have a little Wisconsin State Park up above Washington Island at the tip
of the Door County Peninsula. It's on 620 acre Rock Island and gives similar
vistas with Ore shipping boats and a series of small islands dotting Lake
Michigan the northeastern side. There are only campsites and a few trails, an
old, retired lighthouse, and a large stone home owned by the former owner.
Great stone cliffs on north and eastern sides. An excellent spot, but
requiring two ferry boat fees, and you must leave your car in the Washington
Island Parking Lot. One can also get there by Kayak, canoe, or small power
boat. Campsites must be reserved, but it can be done online.
As Ever, Orin Keplinger, on a Boone County, IL farm in north central Illinois.
