And here's the history
<http://www.flagshipdetroit.org/FSD/History-NC17334.html>
Built in 1937 (very early model) and put into service for 10 years by
American. Then sold around to many owners until bought and restored by
the Flagship Detroit Foundation. It still has (updated) Wright Cyclone
9 cylinder engines. Later model DC-3s were fitted with Pratt & Whitney
Twin Wasps.

I looked at the scheduled flights for today and realized one of the
prime restored DC-3s in the country was coming in. In keeping with its
age, I put a Leica Summaron 35/3.5 on the Fuji X-E1, a lens dating from
1956, purchased from a former LUG contributor. Here are three images:

And, as an afterthought, life is not always rosy, even when you have
money. The owner of this very expensive touring bus turned too closely
around a post this morning when departing from Bonnaroo. The aluminum
wheel must be replaced before it can make the seven hour drive home.
Body work will follow. :-(
